DescriptionScienceHow to UseIngredients

Like humans, our furry counterparts have endocannabinoid systems—which means they can benefit from CBD. For that, I'm the pet CBD oil delivering relief to your furry companion.

I'm intentionally formulated with two ingredients to support your pet's optimal health and well-being—premium + organic hemp-extracted CBD isolate, and pumpkin seed oil—absolutely no THC. CBD oil supports hormonal balance, immune function, and the nervous system, relieving anxiety, inflammatory conditions (e.g. arthritis), autoimmune diseases (e.g. hypothyroidism), and seizures. Rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, pumpkin seed oil supports healthy digestion, improves coat and skin health, and boosts the immune system.

500mg: 16.67mg CBD per 1mL

1,000mg: 33mg CBD per 1mL

30mL per bottle

Best used for common concerns, including seizures, pain, inflammation, anxiety, restlessness, arthritis, nausea and vomiting, and age-related problems. Recent in vivo and in vitro clinical studies on CBD have also shown the following benefits:

Promotes a balanced endocannabinoid system:

  • CBD interacts with your pet's endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is responsible for maintaining homeostasis or balance in the body.
  • Studies have shown that CBD can boost the activity of the ECS by increasing levels of the endocannabinoid anandamide, which can promote balance and overall well-being.

Improves joint and mobility health:

  • CBD has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which can reduce inflammation in joints and improve mobility.
  • In a study of dogs with osteoarthritis, CBD was found to decrease pain and increase activity levels.

Supports healthy digestion:

  • CBD can interact with receptors in the gut, which can reduce inflammation and promote healthy digestion.
  • CBD has also been shown to reduce nausea and vomiting in animals.

Boosts immune system function:

  • CBD has been shown to have immunomodulatory properties, which can regulate and improve immune system function.
  • In a study of mice with autoimmune disorders, CBD was found to reduce inflammation and improve immune system function.

Reduces anxiety and stress, promotes calm and relaxation:

  • CBD has been shown to have anxiolytic effects, which can reduce anxiety and stress in animals.
  • Supports the balance of hormones and adrenals, which are essential in reducing daily stress and promoting well-being.
  • In a study of dogs with noise-induced phobias, CBD was found to reduce anxiety levels.

Improves sleep quality:

  • CBD has been shown to have sedative effects, which can improve sleep quality in animals.
  • In a study of rats, CBD was found to increase total sleep time and improve sleep quality.

Protects the brain and promotes brain health:

  • CBD has been shown to improve serotonin and BDNF activity; abnormalities are associated with age-related decline.
  • CBD has neuroprotective properties that relieve neuroinflammation and support regeneration.

When: Depending on the nature of the ailment. If your pet suffers from anxiety, you may wish to give it to them on stressful days or before a stressful event like moving, going to the vet, or a night you know that fireworks are on. If your pet suffers from seizures, it may be used preventatively in small daily doses. Consult a vet before diagnosing or giving your pet CBD.

How much: A typical rule of thumb is to start with 1–2mg CBD per 1 kilogram, or 2.2 pounds, of weight. Wait 45 minutes after the first dose before administering another dose, if needed. A 20kg (large) dog can safely receive up to 10mg CBD per kilogram of weight depending on the severity of the problem.

Because CBD protects your furry pals, too.

It's New Year's Eve. For you, it's the best night ever. But for your furry friend, it's the worst.

She hates the fireworks, gets terrified, and spends the rest of the night hiding under the bed panting. You're not going to let it happen this year. You give him/her a small dose in the morning in preparation, and then another in the evening. He/she was a bit nervous when the fireworks started, but was overall much more relaxed. Which made your gathering all the merrier.

Life is full of unknowns.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBD (Cannabidiol)?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound found in cannabis and hemp. It is non-psychoactive, meaning it doesn’t cause a “high” or change a person’s state of mind, but it influences the body to use its own endocannabinoids more effectively.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is a product that’s derived from cannabis. It’s a type of cannabinoid, which are the chemicals naturally found in marijuana plants. Even though it comes from marijuana plants, CBD doesn’t create a “high” effect or any form of intoxication — that’s caused by another cannabinoid, known as THC.

What is CBD isolate?

CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD, which is produced by removing all other compounds found in the plant including terpenes, flavonoids, plant parts, and other cannabinoids.

What is Sunnyside Botanicals' dog CBD oil made of?

Sunnyside Botanicals' dog CBD oil is made of two ingredients: premium, organic, hemp-extracted CBD isolate oil, and pumpkin seed oil.

Why use pumpkin seed oil as a carrier for dog CBD oil?

Pumpkin seed oil is rich in vitamins A, B, C, E, zinc, unsaturated fatty acids, iron, magnesium, selenium, and calcium. These nutrients are essential for good cell metabolism and are indispensable for many body functions. Regular administration of pumpkin seed oil can improve the texture and appearance of your pet’s coat and skin. It also has detoxifying properties and can help prevent worm infestation. It can be beneficial for inflammation of the kidneys, bladder, and urinary tract.

Is CBD oil safe for dogs?

Yes, CBD oil is considered safe for dogs. However, it’s important to talk with your vet about your pet’s specific health needs before starting a CBD regimen.

What are the benefits of CBD oil for dogs?

CBD oil can provide relief from symptoms such as anxiety, seizures, and arthritis. It can also support your furry friend's brain health, immune function, and sleep quality.

How does CBD help with my dog's anxiety?

CBD has been shown to interact with the endocannabinoid system in dogs, which helps regulate mood and anxiety. It can promote a calming effect, supporting relaxation and balanced behavior in your dog. This can help reduce anxiety-related behaviors in dogs, especially if given before stressful events.

How does CBD help dogs with seizures?

CBD has an anticonvulsant effect and can prevent the misfire of brain impulses. It interacts with the endocannabinoid system in dogs, which can help manage neuroinflammation and reduce the frequency and severity of seizures.

How does CBD help dogs with arthritis?

CBD is a natural anti-inflammatory that can help reduce joint discomfort in dogs. It works by binding to CB1 receptors in the brain, stimulating the immune system to reduce inflammation. This can help improve mobility and reduce pain in dogs with arthritis.

How does CBD help support my dog's immunity?

CBD has an immunomodulatory effect, meaning it regulates the immune system. This results in a more balanced immune response and increased protection from harmful agents. CBD also interacts with the endocannabinoid system, which regulates various physiological processes, including immune response.

How does CBD help with my dog's brain health?

CBD can have neuroprotective properties, meaning it can protect the brain in cases of illness or injury. It interacts with the endocannabinoid system, which controls vital body functions, including brain functions. This can help improve brain health and function in dogs.

Does CBD help dogs sleep better?

CBD can promote a calming effect, which can help dogs relax and sleep better. It can also help reduce discomfort in dogs, which can improve sleep quality. CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid system, which regulates sleep among other functions.

How should I give my dog CBD oil?

CBD oil is a versatile product, allowing pet owners to find the best way of using CBD for their pup’s particular needs.

There are two main ways to administer CBD oil for dogs:

Orally: If your dog is the type to get suspicious of tinctures and pills, the simplest way to give them CBD is by dropping their dose into their food. Adding CBD oil to a dog’s dinner helps them to digest the maximum amount of CBD.

Sublingually: Sublingual application means dropping CBD oil into a dog’s mouth. The aim here is to get the CBD oil under their tongue or onto their gums where fine blood vessels are near the surface. This allows for super-fast absorption, while any remaining CBD is digested.

How long does it take for CBD oil to work in dogs?

The effects of CBD oil can usually be seen within 30 minutes to an hour. However, for chronic conditions, it may take a few weeks to see significant improvements.

Are there any side effects of CBD oil in dogs?

Side effects are rare, but some dogs may experience drowsiness, dry mouth, or lowered blood pressure.

Can a dog overdose on CBD oil?

While CBD is generally considered safe, it is possible for a dog to ingest too much. If your dog shows signs of lethargy, vomiting, incontinence, or restlessness, contact your vet immediately.

Is dog CBD oil legal in Canada?

Yes, as of October 2018, cannabis products, including CBD oil, are legal in Canada.

How should I store my dog's CBD oil?

The product should be stored in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.

What is the shelf life of CBD oil for dogs?

The shelf life of dog CBD oil that is properly stored is typically 1-2 years. Please check the expiration date on the bottle.

Can I give dog CBD oil to my cat?

Yes. Just be mindful that your cat is a smaller animal and requires a much smaller dose than the average dog would. It’s important to consult with a vet before starting any new treatments.

How often should I give my dog CBD oil?

The frequency can depend on the reason for use and the individual dog’s needs. Give your fur baby CBD oil daily if they exhibit behavioral issues or suffer from general stress, anxiety, inflammation, or seizures. For general health and well-being, give your dog CBD oil daily to support their endocannabinoid system, which helps to keep them resilient to stress and disease.

Alternatively, give your dog CBD oil an hour before a stressful event, such as a car ride, visit to the vet, thunderstorm, fireworks, vacuuming, etc.

Will Sunnyside Botanicals' CBD oil make my dog high?

No, this product was formulated with CBD isolate oil and will not make your dog high. Unlike THC, CBD is non-intoxicating.

Can I give CBD oil to my dog if they are on other medications?

It’s important to consult with a vet before starting any new treatments, as CBD is processed by the same liver enzymes as many other medications and may interact with them.

CBD oil vs. CBD treats for dogs?

For general use, a pet CBD oil tincture is the best option. When taken with healthy fats, like Pumpkin Seed Oil or MCT oil, CBD is absorbed up to 4 times more versus low or no-fat treats. CBD oils also allow owners to vary their pup’s dosage more accurately, using the measuring tincture as opposed to breaking a treat in half.

CBD treats, on the other hand, offer owners a pre-dosed CBD format that’s easy to administer. Treats can also be conveniently transported around when on walks or at the dog park.

How will I know if my dog’s CBD oil is working?

Even the best CBD oil for dogs is unlikely to make an immediate difference to your pup’s symptoms. Like most health supplements, it can take several days or weeks of consistent doses before effects become visible.

While some dogs show easily noticeable improvements after taking CBD, others may have more subtle responses. Here are some signs that your dog’s CBD is taking effect:

1. Increased mobility: One of the most common things that owners of dogs taking CBD observe are improvements in their pet’s ability to stand, sit, and walk around. Dogs with arthritis or hip dysplasia who respond to CBD often stop licking or biting at their hinds, and may rediscover their love of walks.

2. Changes in communicative behavior: When dogs are suffering from stress and inflammation, they may respond by becoming passive, shy, non-responsive, or even aggressive. If CBD is having a positive effect on inflammation-related stress and anxiety, dogs can return to previous levels of vocalization, eye contact, energy, and other communication habits.

3. Reduction of symptoms: CBD won’t cure any canine condition, but as it takes effect, it should reduce the frequency, duration, or intensity of symptoms. That means fewer aches, pains, or anxiety episodes for your dog!

Alternatives Your Fur Baby (and You) Will Love

These pure, potent, and organic CBD oils will work with your dogs (and other pets), too; the only difference between "pet" and "human" CBD is the concentration of CBD. Start with 1–2mg of CBD per 1 kilogram, or 2.2 pounds, of your pet's weight and wait 45 minutes before administering another dose, if needed. A 20kg (large) dog can safely receive up to 10mg CBD per kilogram of weight depending on the severity of the problem.

Didn't go over well with my picky cat

I personally didn't notice a difference in my cat's anxiety but I only got to use it for a couple weeks. He liked it at first mixed into his wet food but then got sick of the taste and threw a fit about it, so I gave up.

My dog likes it

I had no trouble putting it in my dog<s mouth. She<s usually very fussy about food. I think this works, I only tried it once and I think I did not give her enough. I was leaning on the safe side! I wil try it for our next roadtrip. She usually almost has a heart attack when she rides in the car! I am confident this CBD will help :)

Pet cbd 500mg

It’s been about 3 weeks since starting and I am starting to notice her not to be blood to my side. A decrease of about mmm I would say 10-15% better so I am excited to keep this regiment going and it can only get better (I hope). So far it’s a thumbs up.
